Last July, I had the absolute pleasure of photographing the legendary Sister Sledge at the iconic Paradiso in Amsterdam. From the moment I stepped into the venue, I knew it was going to be an unforgettable experience.

The air was thick with anticipation, and the energy of the crowd was palpable. As a photographer, there's nothing more exhilarating than capturing such moments, and this evening was nothing short of magical.
Paradiso, with its rich history and unique atmosphere, is always a photographer's dream. The venue, retains its original stained-glass windows and high ceilings, giving it an almost ethereal quality. The acoustics are unparalleled, making it the perfect stage for a band as dynamic as Sister Sledge.
The crowd was as diverse as it was enthusiastic— people of all ages, backgrounds, and styles came together, united by a shared love for music. It was a beautiful reminder of the universal power of music to bring people together.

When Sister Sledge finally took the stage, the room erupted with cheers and applause. The sisters exuded a vibrant energy that was both infectious and uplifting. Their harmonies were tight, their choreography sharp, and their smiles genuine. From the first note, it was clear that this was more than just a concert; it was a celebration. The crowd was on their feet, dancing and singing along to every word.
As a photographer, my focus was on capturing the essence of those first three songs—those crucial moments when the energy is at its peak. The stage lighting bathed the performers in a warm, golden glow, perfectly complementing their soulful voices. I was honeyed and pleased with each shot, knowing that I was capturing something truly special. I was standing outside the photo booth so I was able to photograph the whole stage.

Unfortunately, after the first three songs, I had to put my camera away, as is often the case with concert photography. Otherwise I would have come home with thousands of photos anyway!
